Surrey Sustainable Energy Plan
The Tackling Climate Change Together team is currently developing a Surrey Sustainable Action Plan, to take forward the shared commitment to reduce carbon emissions as set out in the Surrey Climate Change Strategy. This action plan will be based on the results of research and evidence, particularly recent work undertaken by Carbon Descent to model various carbon reduction scenarios. Ultimately, Surrey´s ambition is to become one of the lowest carbon areas in the UK (as identified in the Surrey Strategic Partnership Plan 2010).
The draft plan is under development at the moment and will be informed by stakeholder feedback from local workshops. Surrey elected Members will be consulated on the draft plan at the end of April 2011 prior to wider consultation across the county.
