Project Governance
A three-tier structure has been put in place the steer and drive the project:
-
Project Board
-
Key Infrastructure/ Service Providers Group
-
Surrey Infrastructure Forum
Project Board
A project board oversees the strategic direction of the work programme and reviews progress. The board was established at the outset of the project and meets monthly. It is chaired by David Hill, Chief Executive of Guildford Borough Council, and project sponsor for the Surrey Improvement Partnership.
Key Infrastructure/ Service Providers Group
This group has been established to provide technical expertise to the project and comprises representatives ranging from education, health, house building, transport, utilities, emergency services and green infrastructure. The group, which is chaired by Surrey Police, held its first meeting on 19 January 2009.
Surrey Infrastructure Forum (SIF)
The Forum will act as a consultative body to the project; it will both inform and challenge its direction. Through the SIF, Surrey Authorities will be able to engage with the broad spectrum of stakeholders in the county with an interest in the project. The Forum is expected to meet twice a year. It held its inaugural meeting on 4 February 2009 at the HG Wells Conference Centre in Woking and was attended by over 125 delegates.
